Brick Capital Community Development Corporation (Brick Capital CDC) brings many benefits to the entire community, particularly to industry. Brick Capital CDC builds safe, affordable homes and apartments for workers of Lee County. The community outreach work connects neighbor to neighbor, and families to service; the work of Brick Capital CDC stabilizes and enriches all in Lee County.

Financial Literacy

Financial literacy is taught as a component of the Home Buyers Education Course. Brick Capital CDC teaches a separate course about finances to church groups, organizations and individuals who need the training and assistance with their finances.

Partnership

Based on need, Brick Capital CDC partners with many other organizations in Lee County for Special projects. For example: Lee-Harnett-Haven Housing, built in 2003, is a collaboration between Brick Capital CDC, Lee-Harnett Area Mental Health Department and Haven to provide 12 units of supportive housing for the mentally ill and victims of domestic violence. The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta were also partners in the Lee-Harnett-Haven Housing. In 2009, Brick Capital CDC partnered again with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency to build an additional six units of Lee-Harnett-Haven Housing for people with disabilities. In 2009, Brick Capital and Haven in Lee County are building a 29 unit shelter for victims and their families of domestic violence.
